Debutante Logan Kirkland
Embarking on a journey filled with elegance, grace and purpose, I am honored to be a Debutante in the 2024 Cotillion sponsored by the Marietta-Roswell Alumnae Chapter (MRAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This program offers workshops, cultural activities and service projects designed to educate, enlighten and empower.
So Exciting!
I, along with my parents and #teamLogan supporters, will be hosting fundraising events to support MRAC’s scholarships and chapter initiatives. My efforts will make a real difference in the community.
So Impactful!
The program culminates in November with a Cotillion Ball, where I along with my fellow debs will be presented to society. The night will be a grand celebration of friendships made, lessons learned, and the generosity of supporters. Every donation, no matter the size, is a testament to your kindness and desire to help.
Thank you for your support.
So Grateful!
About Me
Academics
I am a Junior International Magnet Student at North Cobb High School with a 4.53 GPA, driven by AP and Honors classes. Last year I was inducted into the National Beta Club in recognition of my academic achievement.
I love to learn!
Athletics
Soccer is my first love, and I have been playing since the age of three. Currently, I am playing on the Georgia Impact SCCL Club Team. I am also a member of the North Cobb High School Varsity Soccer Team.
I am very competitive!
Activities & Hobbies
I am committed to community service, passionate about public speaking, always eager to travel and a self-taught baker!
Within my church, Antioch Baptist Church North, I actively participate in the youth group, playing the cello in the youth orchestra, volunteering in the nursery and contributing to various dramatic/oratorical presentations. As a two-time winner of the Georgia Baptist Congress of Christian Education oratorical contest, I have honed my public speaking skills and garnered recognition for my oratorical abilities.
I am also an active member of the Senior Teen Group within the North Suburban Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Last year, I was honored with both the Outstanding Junior Teen and Outstanding Service Awards. Most recently, I achieved third place in the chapter’s Ann Owen Gordon Oratorical Contest.
I like to speak and serve!
My favorite hobbies include traveling and baking. I enjoy learning about history and various cultures, especially internationally. My internationals travels include UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), France, Costa Rica, Panama, Australia, New Zealand, and Turks & Caicos.
I am seeking more passport stamps!
On a sweeter note, I launched my business, Sugar Bowl Desserts, in 2020. I have graduated from pre-made cookies to homemade butter cream cake with art inspired frosting and embellishments. Butter cream cakes are my specialty but cookies, cupcakes and cakepops are in my portfolio as well. Knowing my creations have been a part of memorable moments for others is so very rewarding.
Oh, how sweet!
Aspirations
This past summer I had the privilege of attending the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) held at Georgetown University, where I immersed myself in the study of International Diplomacy. This program provided me with the opportunity to engage in college-level seminars facilitated by ambassadors and college professors, partake in educational and exploratory tours, and engage in United Nations simulations. Through these experiences and participation in my school’s Model UN club, my comprehension of diplomacy and global issues has deepened and solidified my aspiration to become a US Ambassador. Following high school, I plan to pursue this path by attending a HBCU and pursuing a major in International Relations/Affairs. Moreover, I aim to incorporate global exposure and enrichment into my academic journey by studying abroad.
Look out world here I come!
